Sarah Stout

Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout
would not take the garbage out.
When she finally tried to clean the room,
she couldn’t push the garbage out with a broom.
Sarah wanted to call for help,
but with all that trash, no one would hear a little yelp.
Her father told her once before,
to take that garbage out the door.
Sarah didn’t mind him at all,
that’s why she couldn’t see the wall.
After a while she couldn’t get out the doors,
for she could barely see the floors.
When there was no more food in her home,
The last bit of food in her stomach was all alone.
Sarah Stout began to worry,
she needed food in a hurry.
She tried to smash the garbage in the can,
but that didn’t work, she needed another plan.
Days went by as Sarah tried to forget the horrible feat,
that soon, it would be the garbage that she’d have to eat.
This couldn’t go on anymore,
if Sarah didn’t eat soon, she’d hit the floor.
She began searching for the most recent debris,
yet all that she could find was a used package of tea.
She finally found an piece of old peach pie,
but she was afraid that if she ate this she would die.
Sarah ate and ate all that she could find,
She even ate the peel of a rotten lime.
Sarah ate a moldy macaroni casserole,
She even swallowed an old, green, stale roll.
Sarah fell asleep after eating one day,
but she would never again get up and play.
Sarah had finally faced her awful fate,
all because she never cleaned her plate.
So now you know the story of Sarah Stout,
the girl who never took the garbage out.
